   Hi

   Is this a valid VIB ? When I attempt to install ESXI 5.1.0 with this VIB I see the following error at install time, http://tinypic.com/r/2rmsajl/5 .

   The VIB appears to contain the source code for the module and not the compiled module.
   Please see the difference in the net-e1000e-2.3.2.x86_64.vib and net-e1001e-2.4.14.x86_64.vib descriptor.xml at http://pastebin.com/d29thbgT

   I find that I can not install ESXI using this VIB.

   Erm, i compiled this myself, used this 1 week ago to get my nic up and running.

   But i will check the file, maybe i’ve uploaded the wrong one…?

   Anyhow, everybody can compile the stuff himself:
   click or for VIB’s click

   Things are pretty easy 😉

   Hi

   Your VIB does contain the source code rather than the complied module.
   You can compare contents of net-e1000e-2.3.2.x86_64.vib with that of net-e1000e-2.3.2.x86_64.vib as so.

   Did you compile the net-e1001e-2.4.14.x86 driver before packaging it ? There are instructions in 4 parts on compiling drivers here http://www.vm-help.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=34 .
   I would like to compile the e1001e-2.4.14 driver myself but I don’t have a c/c++ background and struggled to correct the compiling errors I saw when attempting to compile the driver.

   yupp, i have compiled it before, but as i see, i’ve uploaded the wrong package 🙁

   Nevermind, i’m at the office on monday, will change the wrong file!

   thanks for building this, awaiting your upload of the compiled version, definitely very keen to test on my ESXi server
